- Burma has an annual Water Festival (known as Thingyan) to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Thousands of people taken to the streets to have an enormous water fight. This happens in April and the exact date is determined by the Lunar calendar.
- The longyi is a traditional item of clothing worn by men and women in Burma. It is a long piece of material that ties at the waist, similar to a sarong.
- The Kingdom of Pagan was the birthplace of Burmese culture in the 12th and 13th centuries. Today you can visit around 2000 religious monuments in the capital Bagan.
- Thanaka is a type of tree bark that Burmese people smear onto their faces as sun protection. It is thought to hold anti-aging properties too!
