OUR 3 FAVOURITE LONG-HAUL LUXURY BEACH DESTINATIONS FOR 2024

After what feels like the longest January in history, it’s no surprise that we are all craving some sunshine and the feeling of warm, soft sand between our toes.

2024 is the year of long-haul luxury escapes and discovering new bucket list destinations.

Come on a journey across the oceans with us to explore three unique long-haul hot spots, all offering a very different holiday experience but set to be amongst the top luxury beach destinations to visit in 2024. We’re talking speedboat rides, powder-soft sands, and sipping tropical cocktails whilst gazing across crystal-clear turquoise waters.

St Vincent and the Grenadines

You’ve heard of the delights of Barbados… Jamaica… St Lucia… but what about this lesser-known cluster of Caribbean islands: St Vincent and the Grenadines?

We predict 2024 is going to be the year for this Caribbean gem to shine. A flight into Barbados followed by a short but thrilling propellor plane transfer will kick start this holiday of a lifetime. The islands still offer the pure escapism famously afforded to Princess Margret in her Royal heyday. Secluded and untouched, you will be seduced by resorts like Palm Island where just 43 beach huts are spread across a private island where iguanas roam free… or stay in a Colonial era hotel, fit for Royalty on Mustique. Or you could try one of the most exciting concept resorts to hit the Caribbean in recent times, the brand-new Sandals resort in Buccament Bay on St Vincent itself, which we have recently started booking. A truly world class hotel with over water villas, swim up suites, and even Butlers to take care of your every whim. It takes the famous Sandals luxury included concept to a new level and is going to put St Vincent at the top of every holiday wish list.

Wherever you stay across the islands, magical elegance awaits along with sand so soft you wonder if you are dreaming, catamaran cruises around the Tobago Cays Marine Park, turtle and string ray snorkelling experiences, and the warmest hospitality offering up freshly caught lobster on the BBQ for dinner, and island rum so strong it cannot be exported!

The memories of a holiday on these magical islands will forever become your happy place.

Bali

Just a short hop from Singapore, the idyllic Indonesian island of Bali has long been famed as a backpacker’s paradise, but the beautiful scenery, mouth-watering cuisine, and a string of luxury resorts have caught the attention of the more discerning traveller making this a must visit destination for 2024.

Bali (and its 3 smaller island destinations) sit within ‘The Coral Triangle’ which is amongst the most biodiverse water on the planet, making the diving and snorkelling opportunities world class. But whatever components make up your perfect holiday, Bali has it in spades, from relaxation, local culture, surfing, and even a spot of partying!

We would recommend visiting during the dry season which runs from April to October. Head to more of the luxury resorts of Sanur or Nusa Dua for the perfect base for uninterrupted down time. Or if you like something a little livelier, then Kuta is home to beautiful seafront hotels and popular beach bars and eateries. For the best of both worlds (and our personal favourite), Seminyak is a dreamy combination of tropical beaches, white sands, water sports and ocean front bars from which to enjoy picture postcard vistas.

It would be easy to spend your entire holiday on the beach, however, Bali has some spectacular sights inland making it the perfect destination to mix relaxation interspersed with some fascinating day trips to soak up the culture. Ubud is a creative oasis of incense infused temples, authentic markets selling handcrafted souvenirs, eco-friendly spas, lush rice fields and the Sacred Monkey Sanctuary which is a must visit spot to allow you to spend time with Bali’s cutest residents!

We can help you curate your perfect trip to Bali to maximise relaxation and exploration and experience all the fun of backpacking but in complete luxury!

The Maldives

No list of tropical paradise destinations would be complete without The Maldives. We all know of this of this world famous honeymooners’ paradise, but with Virgin recently adding 3 direct flights per week from the UK to their schedules and a swathe of new family-friendly and ultra luxury resorts popping up across this archipelago, we predict 2024 is going to put this destination back in the spotlight… in fact, it is proving so popular we have even started to book holidays for 2025!

If you are looking for the beach holiday of a lifetime, nowhere does it quite like the Maldives. Friendly hospitality, fine white sand, and dreamy crystal-clear waters are the backdrop for everything from your perfect honeymoon to family fun in nature's adventure playground.

If romance and seclusion are what you desire, then Cocoa Island in the South Male atoll is our perfect pick for soft sands and balmy waters which will provide the most Insta perfect shot!

Or at the North Western tip of the Male Atoll are resorts like Oblu Select - a vibrant and chic paradise with dreamy overwater villas where you can see stingray and tropical fish beneath your terrace, dine in exotic restaurants, and enjoy pristine beaches.

If opulent indulgence is what you desire, then the Joali Resort on the Raa Atoll is a must. Or if a family break is what you crave then Lux in the South Ari Atoll resort has a child-friendly spa, an outdoor beach cinema, and water sports aplenty… a family holiday dream come true!

You could be forgiven for spending the entire holiday in your resort bubble alternating lazily between sunbathing, snorkelling, and cocktail drinking, but there are plenty of options if you want to explore the islands.  A dolphin cruise is a fabulous way to experience the vibrant seascape of the area whilst on the lookout for these playful animals in their natural environment or to experience authentic island life, a boat ride to Hithadoo or Maafushi to see fisherman hauling in their catch of mahi mahi, and hear the call to prayer to the beautiful mosques.

And you must try to experience the nocturnal phenomenon of bioluminescence. We have all seen the famous Instagram images where the surf of the Maldives glows neon blue at night. It occurs when bioluminescent organisms in the water are disturbed. It can happen anywhere across the islands but for the best chance to see it a trip to Vadhoo between June and October will enhance your luck!

Whether it is elegant escapism fit for Royalty in St Vincent and the Grenadines, a Balinese retreat, or the ultimate lux Indian Ocean experience in the Maldives we would love to make your dreams come true. Contact us to make an enquiry!
